Ever since his first fight with Leon Edwards ended in a no contest (accidental eyepoke) back in March 2021, Belal Muhammad feels like "Rocky" has been evading a rematch with him.
"You're the one who injured me, so as a man you'd want to run it back but he's not a man," Muhammad says on the latest installment of UFC 304 Countdown. "He's a coward and he didn't like what he felt in there and he didn't want to be in there with me. He's been running since then."
Muhammad has used that no contest as fuel toward pulling off five straight victories to earn a rematch against the welterweight world champion Edwards as the two will headline UFC 304 from the Co-op Live arena in Manchester, England, and live on pay-per-view, on Saturday night.
And Muhammad vows to drag Edwards through hell and back in the Octagon.
"I'm going to dominate him, I'm going to drown him, I'm going to make it the worst night of his life," Muhammad promises.
"This is going to be the best version of myself and I hope it's the best version of Leon," he continued. "And I'm going to show you that the best me is three times better than the best Leon."
Muhammad added: "And I'm going to go out there and finish him in front of his own people, in front of his crowd, in front of his coaches. They're all going to look at me like 'how did this guy come to our town, our country and beat our guy like that?'"
