The UFC is set to return with its second fight card in a week as the next UFC Fight Night is set for Wednesday, May 13.
The card will be headlined with a showdown between former UFC light heavyweight title contenders Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira, with the winner inching closer to another crack at current champion Jon Jones.
Also on the card is Ovince Saint Preux making his heavyweight debut against Ben Rothwell and a lightweight tilt between Alexander Hernandez and Drew Dober.
The No. 3 ranked Smith returns to the Octagon after an impressive submission over Alexander Gustafsson last June. That victory followed a hard-fought loss to Jon Jones for the title. A win for Smith would put him a fight or two away from another title opportunity. Across the cage will be the No. 8 ranked Teixeira, who is looking for his fourth consecutive win. The Brazilian squeezed by Nikita Krylov in his last fight and certainly needs an impressive performance if he seeks to be a top contender in the division.
