Davey Grant produced a dramatic finish when he took on UFC veteran Raphael Assuncao in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Assuncao was rocked with a Grant right hand early on, but the Brazilian regained momentum as he reverted back to his wrestling.
When both men returned to their feet for round three, Grant hit his opponent with a spinning backfist in the latter stages of the round which looked to spell the beginning of the end.
But as Assuncao put Grant over his shoulder, the 37-year-old Brit locked in an inverted triangle submission and brought the fight to an end.
This was a finish which was extremely rare and resulted in fans and current fighters across the world losing their minds on what had transpired.
After being rendered unconscious by Grant, Assuncao announced his retirement from the sport of MMA after a career which stretched over 19 years.
