The UFC returned to London for the second time in 2022 on Saturday. The main event featured Britain's own Tom Aspinall taking on Curtis Blaydes. The winner of what was expected to be a slugfest was thought to put themselves in a position to get one step closer to a heavyweight title shot.
But it wasn't meant to be as Blaydes won in 15 seconds as Aspinall suffered a horrific leg injury, and the referee stopped the fight.
Aspinall started off by throwing a couple of leg kicks, and Blaydes landed two big right hands. But it was the final leg kick that ended things.
Aspinall threw a right leg kick, and when he planted his leg, the Englishman crumbled in a heap, and the fight was immediately stopped.
Also on the main card, Paddy Pimblett overcame some adversity in the first round to submit Jordan Leavitt in the second round, and then Molly McCann stopped Hannah Goldy in the first round.
Here is what happened at UFC London: Curtis Blaydes vs. Tom Aspinall.
