The UFC hosted its 100th UFC Fight Night from the UFC APEX on Saturday, when welterweights Neil Magny and Carlos Prates faced off in the main event.
No. 15 ranked Magny looked to hold tight to his top 15 ranking when he took on Prates but it didn't go the way the veteran wanted. After a back and forth in the first round, Prates landed a brutal strike which dropped Magny out cold.
Magny is coming off a first-round TKO loss to Michael Morales in August and will needed a win to remain ranked among the UFC's best. It's clear that come next week Prates will be the one ranked.
The Brazilian has remained undefeated in his UFC career since getting signed off his second-round KO of Mitch Ramirez in 2023's season of Contender Series. Since then, he's won three in a row, including a left hook knockout of Li Jingliang at UFC 305 in August. He's earned 10 knockouts in a row.
After the win, he called out Jack Della Maddalena.
