DAZN has secured the rights for the new Extreme E motorsports series, an electric rally competition that launches its inaugural season with five events across the globe.
The first event will take place in Saudi Arabia as the Desert X-Prix this weekend, with the qualifying stages taking place on Saturday 3 April before moving onto the race proper on Sunday 4 April. Both days kick off their action at 6am GMT.
Extreme E can only be watched on streaming and broadcast services, as no spectators will be permitted in order to minimise the environmental impact on the locations. Each team will be required to field one male and one female driver, with each driver taking a lap each.
The series aims to bring awareness to climate change and environmental damage done to each of the locations to be featured, with a mission, “to highlight the destruction of our planet and to inspire people, companies and locations to urgently change course and go on the positive journey we must all take.”
