Romain Grosjean is ready to return to action at the Detroit IndyCar double-header this weekend , and is now making plans to race in an oval circuit event.
Grosjean is on the entry list for both races this weekend for Dale Coyne Racing, and most recently finished second at the Indy GP following an impressive pole position qualifying performance.
The French driver, with the majority of his experience in Formula 1, is now willing to entertain more prosaic tracks, and will compete at the World Wide Technology Raceway event in August.
"The first step, it is strange to be home watching it and not being part, knowing your friends are doing it," Grosjean told the Associated Press .
"So we'll see what the situation is and then family-wise what do we think of doing. Initially I said I did not want to do ovals, now I would like to try one and then see if I want to do more."
