Joe Joyce is open to fighting Anthony Joshua but understands he is not in the driving seat to make that bout.
Joshua’s last fight was to dismantle Francis Ngannou in two rounds, setting up another huge fight in 2024, potentially against Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk (who fight live on DAZN PPV this Saturday), or in another route to a world title.
Joyce meanwhile defeated Kash Ali in his comeback after back-to-back defeats to Zhilei Zhang, and he hopes to get back to the top of the division.
Speaking to Ash Rose via Freebets, the veteran made it clear he would take a Joshua fight.
He said: “That's up to AJ. I don't know. He's the big boss man, so if he wants to fight me, I'm here.
“Obviously I want to, I still want to get a world title before I retire and stay fighting these big fights, getting in these big fights, exciting stuff, like, what's happening and, you know, I've been at the top of governing bodies before and I was almost there with WBO.
“I couldn't get any closer with the interim, but it's just about getting back in position and getting in the right fights that are more ladders than freaking snakes.”
