Two giants of European football go head-to-head.

The UEFA Women's Champions League (UWCL) returns next week with the group stage getting underway. 

Group C is set to be an exciting watch with two of European football's biggest teams set to go head-to-head in what could be an early rehearsal for the knockout stages. 

Here's everything you need to know about Group C. 

Bayern Munich

The Bavarian giants, Bayern Munich, are no strangers to the grand stages of European football.

With a formidable squad that combines experience with youthful exuberance, they are a team that blends tactical discipline with attacking flair. Their run to the semi-finals last season was a testament to their growing stature in women's football, and they have since bolstered their ranks with strategic signings that add depth and versatility to the squad.

Bayern Munich is poised to not only advance from Group C but to challenge for the top spot. 

Look out for Magdalena Eriksson, Georgia Stanway amongst other players. 

Paris Saint-Germain

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) enters the fray with a reputation as one of the most exciting teams in the tournament.

Having reached the finals previously, PSG is determined to go one step further and claim the trophy.

With a squad teeming with international talent and a playing style that is both aggressive and attractive, PSG's matches are a showcase of high-quality football. Their group stage battles, particularly against Bayern Munich, are highly anticipated by fans across the globe. 

Watch out for Marie Antoinette Katoto, Tabitha Chawinga and Lieke Martens amongst other players in the French team. 

AS Roma

The Giallorossi have rapidly established themselves as a team to watch in the UWCL.

Roma's commitment to the women's game is evident in their progressive approach to recruitment and development. Their tactical adaptability and the blend of experienced internationals with prodigious local talent make them a dark horse in a group that promises plenty of drama.

Roma's journey in the UWCL will be closely followed, as they seek to make a significant impact in only their third season.

Look out for Valentina Giacinti, Elena Linari and Saki Kumagai as they will be looking to make big impact.

AFC Ajax

Ajax, with a rich history in European competitions, is aiming to replicate their success in the women's football arena.

Their qualification to the group stage is a statement of intent from a club that values youth development and attractive football.

The Amsterdam-based outfit is known for its high-pressing game and technical proficiency, traits that could serve them well in the group stage. Ajax's participation is not just about competing; it's about laying down a marker for the future.

Look out for their young star Romee Leuchter and veteran Sherida Spitse.
