The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is one of the oldest competitions in the sport. The current edition started with 99 teams and has been trimmed down to four for the semifinals.
One of those sides is Inter Miami, perhaps the most-watched team in North America since Pele's heyday in the NASL in the 1970s. The reason, of course, is Lionel Messi's arrival in south Florida, and Miami have been nearly unstoppable since he joined the previously struggling side.
Miami will travel to MLS-leading FC Cincinnati for the first semifinal on August 24, while the Houston Dynamo will host Real Salt Lake later that day. The winners will meet a month later with the cup on the line.
