Arsenal have been off the pace in recent weeks.

Ally McCoist has urged Mikel Arteta to go out and sign Ivan Toney, whatever the cost, as Arsenal continue to endure problems in front of goal.

Despite starting the season well, the North London club are currently in the midst of a difficult period and they’re finding goals hard to come by despite having several good moments of play.

Entering this season with realistic hopes of winning the Premier League title, Arsenal now find themselves behind Liverpool, Manchester City, and Aston Villa, and McCoist believes Toney can help them.

The Brentford man is set to return soon following a lengthy suspension relating to gambling and the former Rangers man believes he could be the solution to aid Arteta’s side.

“Ivan Toney is exactly what Arsenal need. He is a proper, out and out centre forward. He can drop in and link the play if you want him to, but he also gets in the box and scores goals,” said McCoist when speaking to Talksport BET

“Victor Osimhen is another player who can do that, and he would be my number one pick. However, if it is a question as to whether Arsenal should break the bank to sign Ivan Toney, the answer is yes.”
