Arne Slot's bright start to life at Liverpool has not left countryman Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink surprised, with the former striker suggesting it is because he is not "typically Dutch".
The former Feyenoord boss succeeded Jurgen Klopp at Anfield over the summer, and has guided the Reds to the top of the Premier League in his first two months at the helm.
Coupled with an impressive opening victory in their UEFA Champions League campaign against Milan at San Siro, there are plenty of positive signs for supporters to relish.
Hasselbaink, who most recently was a member of England's Euro 2024 coaching team, thinks his strong impression comes down to a difference from traditional style.

"To be honest, I’m not surprised by the start that Arne Slot has overseen," he told Genting Casino. "A lot of football people in Holland all told me they expected him to be a success.
"He’s not typically Dutch in his style. A lot of Dutch managers can struggle outside of the Netherlands, but people told me that it would be a different story for Slot.
"His teams are very good on the press, and they’re very flexible tactically. He isn’t the type of manager that is afraid to make big decisions with his players and the starting eleven.
"I like the football I’ve seen from his team. It looks like the perfect match and the perfect replacement for Klopp. I expect Liverpool to be up there at the end of the season."
Liverpool are bidding to break Manchester City's monopoly on the Premier League, having fallen short in Klopp's final season, though they did win the Carabao Cup.
