Arsenal got off to winning ways in their Premier League season opener over the weekend, defeating Wolves 2-0.

The Gunners picked up where they left off defensively last season, when they allowed the fewest goals of the 20 Premier League sides. A big part of that stingy defence are William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, who combined to become one of the best centre-back partnerships in Europe during the previous campaign.

Both players were in the starting lineup for the North London side against Wolves, and retired Arsenal defender Lauren believes the duo are imperative to the club's title hopes this season.

“For sure, Saliba and Gabriel are among the best partnerships in the world," Lauren told BonusCodeBets.co.uk. "If they are not the best, they are among the best at least.

“They conceded 29 goals only, and they have improved a lot. Of course, it is not only about the defenders, but when we think about when Saliba was injured last year, Arsenal conceded more goals and lost more games.

“So it is important to have them week in, week out, and they have been absolutely brilliant.”
