David Seaman was pleased with Arsenal's performance in last weekend's 2-2 draw at Manchester City.

The Gunners are once again chasing City in the Premier League title race after finishing runners-up behind Pep Guardiola's side in each of the last two seasons.

Given how close last year's title race was, with the winners not confirmed until the final match day, each meeting between the sides has now taken on increased importance.

And while Arsenal led for the entire second half until John Stones' late goal spared the hosts blushes, former Gunners goalkeeper Seaman is fine with the result — especially with Arsenal down to 10 players for the final 45 minutes.

"As an ex-Arsenal player, I was gutted that City got the point at the end, they got the equalizer," Seaman explained on the Seaman Says podcast, presented by Betway. "But I was watching it, and I was just thinking what a defensive display this is.

"They got City rattled. I've not seen it for a long time, City players moaning afterwards about certain things going on in the game, and they’re masters at it with time wasting. Everybody does it, but don't go out there moaning about it, especially after a game like that. It has the needle of our old Arsenal against United games. And I think that what we saw on Sunday will carry on.

"I said I'll take a point last week, all day long, and I've been saying that all week – I'll take a point.

"We know how good City are and they're on form, they've won every game, so you're always like, anxious when you're playing City. But we've got a bit about us now. People talked about us having a soft underbelly, that's gone. We've got a steeliness about us now and a belief as well."
