Manchester United are reportedly pursuing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot for a summer transfer, but Bacary Sagna believes his countryman should move to Arsenal if he decides on joining the Premier League.

Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the month and reportedly not in Juventus' plans moving forward, making him a coveted free agent for United, AC Milan and other notable sides.

Retired Arsenal defender Sagna doesn't think a move to Old Trafford would suit the France international, instead advocating for a potential link-up with the North London club.

“Manchester United would be a strange environment for Adrien Rabiot to move to," Sagna told Paddy Power. "I’d love to see him at Arsenal – his style of play is composed and suits Arsenal perfectly. He’s calm on the ball; he doesn’t break the lines or take any risks going forward – he's very clever.

“He was the best player I remember at Paris Saint-Germain – I don’t know why they got rid of him, but he would be good for Arsenal to get.

“I would play him in holding midfield at Arsenal – he covers so much space, goes on many runs and on the ball, and he is very good. It would be good for Arsenal to have someone that is clever on the ball like Rabiot – like what Rodri is doing for Manchester City. Although Rodri doesn’t attack a lot, he’s a key piece of the team and manages to break the lines when needed. Arsenal have the ball most of the time anyway, so they need players who are good on the ball.”
