Brian Deane believes that Erling Haaland won't nab a third Golden Boot next season and will be pipped to the top scorer by one of England's Euro 2024 heroes.
Haaland has topped the goal-scoring charts for the past two seasons, but the man who scored the first-ever Premier League goal is tipping Ollie Watkins to outscore the Norwigan in the upcoming campaign.
Talking exclusively to DAZN, via the home of Online Betting, Deane believes the Aston Villa hitman can top his achievements of last season and walk away with the top scorer gong.
He said: "I think that you have to look at Ollie Watkins this season, because with Haaland whilst Man City are always going to create chances, teams are starting to understand his movement more and are starting to create a plan.
"With a team that has so much possession, there isn’t a lot of space versus with an Aston Villa, the goal that Ollie Watkins scored at the Euros, I can see him scoring goals like that for fun in the league next season. I think Aston Villa are a work in progress and so is Ollie, but he is young enough to be able to improve again on what he has done last season.
"When he didn’t get selected for the World Cup squad, he just took it, he never came out in public and said he was disappointed and obviously he was disappointed, but he’s very professional and has a great approach. And you just look at him and you can see that this is a guy that is well liked by everybody around him."
