Canada reached the finals of the women’s Olympics football final with a 1-0 win over USA.
The match at the Ibaraki Kashima Stadium was settled by a single, late goal for the Canadians when Jessie Fleming broke the deadlock with a quarter of an hour remaining.
The US side, four-time world champions, had a difficult group stage with defeat to Sweden, and also had a tough time of it when they negotiated their way past the Netherlands.
Canada meanwhile had to wait for penalties to beat Brazil in their quarter-final match.
The winner will now play the victor of Sweden vs.Australia, who also play on Monday.
