Injury to Dominic Solanke has seen Spurs lack a focal point in attack.

Chris Waddle has shared his concerns over the lack of depth in Tottenham's front line.

Tottenham splashed out £60 million on Dominic Solanke this summer to finally fill the void left by Harry Kane last year, but the new signing from Bournemouth has suffered an early injury setback, leaving Spurs short up front.

Speaking exclusively to DAZN via NewBettingSites.uk, former winger Waddle says the club's failure to also recruit a backup striker to Solanke could cost them a top-four place.

"The signing of Solanke, yeah, decent player, did well, very well at Bournemouth, can't say he didn't," Waddle said.

"The way he took and created chances, you would think he'd get his fair few chances. Whether he puts them away or not, he'll be judged on goals. And if he puts them in the back of the net, they'll say, what a great signing,  just what we needed. Unfortunately, he got injured very early.

"And again, no backup. I watched the game over the weekend. They played Kulusevski up front, who's not a centre forward, and then they put Son up front, who's not a centre forward. For a club trying to get  top four we haven't got a centre-forward if anyone gets injured."
