Things are looking bleak for the Blades.

Sheffield United remain eight points from safety at the bottom of the Premier League after a narrow 1-0 defeat away against Wolves on Sunday.

The Blades were unfortunate to come away from the game empty handed after missing two clear-cut chances in the first half.

United also looked better defensively, limiting Wolves to just one shot on target - the goal - before the 90th minute of the game.

After the game Blades boss Chris Wilder said he was frustrated at yet another “hard luck story,” and said they must be more ruthless going forward.

“I don't want hard luck stories, we've got to turn good performances into results,” Wilder told Sky Sports.

“We had enough of the play in the second half, we had Wolves where we wanted them.

“That's where we have to find quality and composure if the players want to be Premier League players.

"We've not found that big moment. The team is learning on the job, it's a fresh, new team, and the hardest place to learn is in the Premier League. I hope they will learn, the attitude was good, but we have not come away with a result.

"It's a tough one to take, I don't want us to be unlucky, I want us to be ruthless."
