Christian Eriksen believes Manchester United were held by Twente in their UEFA Europa League opener as their visitors "wanted it more" than the Premier League side.
The Dane struck a superb first-half finish to give Erik ten Hag's men the lead at Old Trafford in the first half of their kick-off game in the revamped competition.
But Eriksen was dispossessed by Sam Lammers in the second half, who netted a crafty equaliser before the Eredivisie outfit dug in to hold on for a major point.
Reflecting afterwards, the midfielder aired his frustrations with the result, but acknowledged United failed to deliver on expectations against a smaller opponent.
"We are disappointed as a team," Eriksen told TNT Sports in his post-match interview. "We wanted more but it was far from good enough in the end.
"They looked like they wanted it more than us and that cannot be right. Personally, you score a goal, you think it is going to be a match winner but it goes the other way."
