Former England goalkeeper David Seaman loved the post-match Arsenal celebrations after their win over title rivals Liverpool last weekend.
The Gunners put themselves back into contention in the Premier League title race with a 3-1 win over the Reds, but we were mocked by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher for how they celebrated after the game.
Carragher took particular umbrage to the antics of Martin Odegaard, who paraded around The Emirates with the club photographer's camera. However, Arsenal legend Seaman admitted he loved watching his former side enjoy what was an important victory.
“I loved the celebrations after the game,” he told Pairmatch.
“Initially I was a little bit unsure about it and thought, calm down, just accept the win. However, it was because of what was resting on that game. Arsenal lose that game and they are out of the title race – that would have been a devastating blow. I think those celebrations came from the pressure of knowing what could’ve happened. It was a show of relief.
“I did have to laugh when I was listening to Jamie Carragher having a go at Martin Odegaard and the photographer. You could tell his team had just lost and all I could think was, ‘oh, so you've never celebrated?’
“Stuart, the photographer, has been there since day one. Everybody loves him. He is so passionate about Arsenal. He did the team talk before the Tottenham game the other season, so he knows and loves everything about Arsenal. I liked that little interaction because Stuart wanted his bit with all the fans behind and the fans stayed for it.
"It was a good day for Arsenal, a really good day. As much as I did think they should just take it calmly, I can't have a go at Mikel Arteta or the players for celebrating how they did because it was a massive result for Arsenal."
