The Danish striker is yet to make his Manchester United debut.

Manchester United have had a mixed start to their 2023/24 Premier League campaign.

While the Red Devils have two wins from their opening three matches, they have not been convincing ones and are now set for their biggest test so far when they travel to Arsenal on Sunday in one of English football's biggest matchups.

One area of concern for United is a threat in front of goal and the club have attempted to rectify this issue with the signing of young Danish striker Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta for £72m, however, the 20-year-old is yet to make his debut after recovering from a back injury.

Now with some reports claiming that Hojlund will be fit this weekend's match with Arsenal, there is a chance he could he feature in manager Erik ten Hag's plans, but with that comes an expectation from fans that he will make an instant impact.

Speaking to Betfred, former United striker Andy Cole has urged for patience when it comes to how Hojlund will settle into the team.

“He needs time to bed in because he’s a young player. His first game’s coming up and he’s just returned from an injury but considering the way that Manchester United have started, people will be on his case straight away because there haven’t been any goals that have come from that central area so far," Cole said.

“Questions will be asked straight away, especially if he doesn’t start well because there’s been a lot of money spent on a kid that scored nine goals in Serie A last season.

"We can all say that he’s inexperienced and that he’s been bought for the long-term, but the crazy media attention that Manchester United receives means that it doesn’t allow players time to bed in, regardless of how much money has been spent on them. People will hound you as soon as things don’t go well.”
