Former Liverpool man expects current star to hit major targets.

Emile Heskey is backing Mohamed Salah to carry on breaking records and move past two Premier League legends this season.

The Liverpool ace has already scored five times this season, taking his total up to 162 Premier League goals across his spell at Chelsea and his career on Merseyside.

His total puts him currently joint ninth on the all-time top scorer list, but some heavyweight names are in his sights.

Speaking to Casino Apps, former Anfield and England striker Heskey is convinced that the Egyptian will move past both Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard before the end of the campaign.

“I can definitely see Mohamed Salah beating Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard’s Premier League goals records this season," said Heskey.

"With Salah on 162 goals and Lampard and Henry on 177 and 175 respectively, it’s definitely achievable.

“I see a lot of people complaining that Salah isn’t scoring as much anymore, but he’s scored around 20+ Premier League goals a season for eight years! I think he needs a bit more respect from people.

"I think he’ll get over 20 goals this season again, and if he does that then he’ll surpass Lampard and Henry which would be an incredible achievement. We need to appreciate him at the club while he’s still here, and hopefully that’s beyond next summer.”
