England head to Germany as one of the favourites.

Gareth Southgate goes into this month's Euros knowing there is huge expectation on his shoulders to finally deliver a major trophy for England.

The 53-year-old has been the Three Lions' most successful manager since Sir Alf Ramsey, having led the national team to a World Cup Semi-final and the final of the Euros three years ago.

Speculation remains over his future, whatever the outcome in Germany, but speaking exclusively to DAZN thanks to Free Bets, former England star Darren Anderton thinks Southgate should stay on as England boss, especially if the team triumphs this summer.

"I think that's up to him. I think that he's done such a good job within tournaments that it should be down to him," Anderton said.

"I think it's just whether he wants to go and have a rest from it. Does he want to go and do club football? Is he happy doing it the way he's doing it at the moment?

"He was such a clever footballer and has now gone on to be a clever manager and getting the best out of all this incredible young talent that we've got within the country.

"I mean, if we were to win it, would he walk away? I mean, I don't know. I don't see it. I don't see it.

"I think the World Cup is such a draw and these players as well. So, I think if we have a good tournament, I think he'll keep going and I hope so."
