Three Lions are one win away from the Euro 2024 final.

England go into tonight's huge semi-final clash with the Netherlands with question marks still over their attack.

So far, Gareth Southgate's side have struggled to create chances in Germany and lacked an attacking threat in games.

Much of the criticism has fallen at the feet of Harry Kane, despite notching twice in the tournament, but former England defender Stephen Warnock has suggested a solution to help the Three Lions captain.

Talking to BetVictor, Warnock would like to see Kane given a partner in England's attack and has suggested Southgate give Ollie Watkins a run alongside the nation's record goal-scorer.

He said: “I’d personally like to see someone alongside Harry Kane in the striker position, even if that changes the formation and the setup behind him.

“I’d probably have Ollie Watkins up front next to him because he brings that pace in behind and can stretch defenders, which would provide more room for Kane to operate in. If you look at the numbers he put up last year as well and the form he’s in, he’s the obvious choice.

“I’m a fan of Ivan Toney too, but with him and Kane up front together, everything would be in front of you as a defender, which is a nice thing to have. Pace always hurts teams and provides a danger for any player, so I’d go for Watkins against the Netherlands.

“The Kane situation is a tough one because of his goals and his reputation and creativity. I think if it’s a fitness issue with him, then dropping him becomes an easier decision to make, but if it’s a form issue then Gareth Southgate will just be hoping that it will eventually click into place.”
