Manchester United will attempt to win their 13th FA Cup title when they face rivals Manchester City at Wembley next month.
The Red Devils were given a scare by Coventry City in the semi-finals but they were able to get past the EFL Championship side and now head into their 22nd final.
Qualifying for the final is an accomplishment in itself, but United will be highly motivated to raise the trophy on May 25, especially since they cannot win any other trophies this season.
But one FA Cup winner believes that even a win against City shouldn't be enough for United to deem their season a success, as the standards at Old Trafford should be higher.
Bacary Sagna, who won the FA Cup in 2014 with Arsenal, told Paddy Power that the Red Devils are too big a club to be happy with just one potential trophy on offer.
“I don’t think the FA Cup should be the target for Manchester United. Even if they win, fans will still be upset at how the season went – and it’s a disappointing season," Sagna said. "United have been in the top four for years. They are in the rebuilding process, but fans don’t want to just win the cup – they want to qualify for the Champions League and to fight for the league.
“As a fan, you cannot be pleased with United’s season. If it was another team, they could get away with it. United is United, and it will always be seen as a big team. The club won’t be happy, even if they finish in a strong way.”
