Middlesbrough are just one match away from reaching the Carabao Cup final, but they still have a massive obstacle in their way.

Boro travel to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday to face Chelsea in the second leg of their semi-final tie, with the EFL Championship side holding the advantage thanks to a 1-0 victory at the Riverside Stadium earlier this month.

While Boro came away with the victory in the first leg, Chelsea were the more threatening side throughout the contest and will now play at home with a chance to reverse their fortunes.

As such, it's expected that the Blues will throw everything at their visitors in Tuesday's match. However, one former Middlesbrough player isn't fazed by the daunting task ahead as he believes the club will overcome their underdog status and advance to the final.

Speaking to Bitcoin Casinos, former Boro and Italy forward Fabrizio Ravanelli only sees one outcome for the second leg.

"A 1-1 draw to put Middlesbrough into the final - definitely," Ravanelli said. "Me and my family will sit on the sofa on Tuesday night and watch the game in our Boro shirts to push the team into the final because it is on Italian television. This is 100 percent certain.

"I want to support them at home as they try to create more history and make it to the final. This time they will win against Chelsea to go to the final. This will be great for the fans and also the chairman because Steve Gibson has sacrificed a lot for this team. He is fantastic."

Ravanelli only spent one season with Middlesbrough but he still speaks fondly of his time there — despite the team having been relegated during his lone campaign at the Riverside Stadium.

"I love Middlesbrough," he said. "It is my dream to one day come back and finish my job. My job is not finished there. After the relegation, I want to come back one day.

"I don’t know if it’s manager, ambassador, or if it is responsibility with the young boys/academy but I want one day to come back to a job in Middlesbrough. This is my dream.

"If one day arrives where I get that one call from Steve Gibson, I think it is my dream. If he says ‘Fabrizio, come in to help me, for the team, for the club, for the organisation, about marketing.’ I don’t know but I am ready to help the chairman."
