Which stars will head to the Middle East next?

We're halfway through the January transfer window, and deals are expected to ramp up in the next couple of weeks before the deadline slams the window shut.

It's been relatively quiet for clubs in the Saudi Pro League, but there's still plenty of time for them to splash out vast amounts of cash.

Here are five possible targets who could be tempted by a move to the Middle East.

Luka Modric

The former Ballon d'Or winner is expected to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season when his contract expires at the Bernabeu, but could he cut short his farewell tour and make a move to the Saudi Pro League? Despite being 38, the midfielder still has plenty to offer and would be a welcome addition to any Saudi Pro League side.

Mohamed Salah

Liverpool will be pleased that their prized asset will be distracted by the African Cup of Nations this month, but it's a transfer story that won't go away. It would take a huge offer to even tempt the Reds into selling the Egyptian, especially with the 31-year-old still having 18 months left on his contract.

Thiago

Another Liverpool man who could be targetted is Spanish star Thiago, although Jurgen Klopp could be more willing to see him depart Anfield. The midfielder has struggled to find a consistent run of form since moving to Merseyside, and with his injury problems continuing, a fresh start could be best for all parties.

Anthony Martial

Manchester United fans are losing patience with striker Martial, with many believing it's time for the Frenchman to move on from Old Trafford. With his struggle for form and fitness, he needs to find a place to start scoring goals and enjoy his football again - could that be in the sun of the Saudi Pro League?

Thomas Partay

The Arsenal man was linked with a move away from North London in the summer and, amid increasing injury concerns, could finally look for an exit this month. Saudi Pro League sides had already expressed an interest in the midfielder, and there's nothing stopping them from reigniting that interest again before the window closes.
