Former Chelsea defender William Gallas thinks that a move for Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford could benefit Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Rashford is reportedly unsettled in his second season under Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, and has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona in previous seasons.
Fernandes meanwhile cuts a frustrated figure on the pitch at Old Trafford, and the captain may be looking to land trophies before he retires.
Other reports have suggested that new co-owner Jim Ratcliffe is willing to listen to offers for all but a handful of United players as he plots a rebuild, which could give Chelsea a chance of an otherwise unthinkable double-swoop.
Speaking to Gambling Zone , Gallas thought that both the Portuguese midfielder and England forward might be good signings.
He said: “Both Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes could be good options for Chelsea. Both are quality players. Bruno could definitely be the kind of midfielder who has the quality to play in the number ten role where Chelsea lack strength.
“Chelsea are a team of young players and Bruno Fernandes has the leadership qualities to get through certain periods. He’d be a good signing if the rumours are true.”
