Former Chelsea star predicts when club could move for Victor OsimhenDAZN
The Napoli striker is in demand.

Bolo Zenden believes that Chelsea could move to replace Nicolas Jackson with Victor Osimhen in the coming months.

Chelsea have had to rely on Jackson given the injury to their other senior striker, Christopher Nkunku, and there are suggestions that they could move for another forward in the winter transfer window.

One name in the frame is Brentford’s England international, Ivan Toney, while Napoli’s forward Osimhen could be another option.

Speaking to WSM Casino, Zenden wondered: “Should Chelsea replace Jackson with Osimhen? Well, Osimhen has proven himself on the big stage at Napoli and he's scored a lot of goals. Teams like Chelsea will always look at out-and-out strikers who can score a lot of goals.

“A team always performs well if they have a real goalscorer in the team. The striker always gets criticized when he doesn't score or take chances. You can miss three chances and score one, but it's a different matter if you win the game 1-0 or lose it 3-1 after the striker has missed several chances. It's just part of the job.

“It's the same in defence - if a defender plays well for 90 minutes but makes a mistake in the 92nd, then people will talk negatively about it. There's definitely a lot of pressure on Jackson to perform well and score goals because I'm sure Chelsea will bring in someone else if he doesn't.

“You can see the same thing at Liverpool - if your strikers are firing, then your team will perform better and the fans and media will be satisfied. It comes with the territory.”
