Former Arsenal and Leicester City striker Alan Smith believes the appointment of Steve Cooper at the King Power Stadium is a sensible move.
Enzo Maresca achieved promotion from the Championship last season but then moved on to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea.
The Foxes have moved to appoint former Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper, who kept his previous side in the Premier League in their first season back in the top fight.
Speaking to Prime Casino, Smith thought the decision was a wise one.
He said: “I think it's a good appointment from Leicester to appoint Steve Cooper. I think he's a good manager.
“It was tough for him at Forest.
“I think it's quite difficult under the owner.
“Maybe Nuno [Espirito Santo] is finding that out now as well, but he did very well to get Forest up into the Premier League and kept them up in their first season back.
“I do think he's a talented coach.
“I think Leicester is in safe hands there. I think they suit each other. I think it's a really good appointment.”
