Yakubu has quashed fears over Everton's disappointing season and tipped the club to avoid relegation.
The Toffees are yet to notch a single point in their first four games this campaign and have surrendered 2-0 goal leads in their last two outings to lose the games 3-2.
The former striker, however, remains positive and told SportsBoom that he still thinks his old club will win their battle against the drop.
“We are not sinking; we are just struggling," said Yakubu.
"We are in a tight position now, we have played four matches and have lost all of them, but I think they will bounce back.
“The season is still young and once they get the first win, they will be fine.
“The problem is we are not scoring goals and that is the thing. We need to score goals, because it is going to be very difficult in December.
“Hopefully, we can win games and keep clean sheets as well and with that, we will be fine. We can’t start thinking about relegation now and it would be unfair to write us off this so early.”
