It's been less than two weeks since Jose Mourinho parted ways with AS Roma, but speculation on his next destination has already begun.
Mourinho's managerial career is among the best of anyone who has ever patrolled the sidelines in football, with successful stints at Porto, Inter, Chelsea and Real Madrid standing out on a sparkling CV.
The Portuguese has won countless trophies throughout his career, including becoming the only manager to have hoisted the three major European club trophies (Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League). Such a pedigree should put Mourinho in high demand in relatively short order, and a former Premier League and Serie A player suggests a high-profile landing spot for the 61-year-old.
Speaking to Mega Dice, former Italy international Fabrizio Ravanelli expressed surprise that Roma cut ties with Mourinho, urging a rival side in the league to snap up "The Special One."
"It was very surprising he left Roma because he is a fantastic manager," Ravanelli said. "He is a fantastic person. I think he did a very good job in Roma but many players are injured and he had a problem with the chairman.
"I’m very disappointed for Italian football because Italian football needs managers like Jose Mourinho.
"There is a suggestion he could be at Napoli next season with Napoli and I really like that possibility. He would be good for them, this is my opinion."
