If Trent Alexander-Arnold is to leave Liverpool, Jermaine Pennant believes it'll only be for La Liga.

Alexander-Arnold is out of contract at the end of the current season and has been linked to Real Madrid, but the 25-year-old would likely also garner a lot of interest from within the Premier League should he become a free agent.

However, Pennant doesn't think Alexander-Arnold would even consider another club in England.

“I can’t see Trent going anywhere else apart from Madrid," Pennant told BonusCodeBets.co.uk. "He won’t play for another Premier League club. He may want to play with his best mate, [Jude] Bellingham."

Pennant further explained that he thinks Alexander-Arnold's loyalty is similar to that of Steven Gerrard, who crossed the Atlantic Ocean to play for MLS side LA Galaxy after his time with Liverpool was done rather than suit up for another English club, adding that another La Liga giant might be able to secure his signature.

“I see Trent as a one club man," Pennant said. "I can’t see Trent at [Manchester] City, Arsenal, Chelsea.

"Similar to Stevie G, I think Trent is Mr. Liverpool. They don’t want to leave their club and I can only see him at Barcelona or Madrid."
