Former Liverpool and Chelsea defender Glen Johnson picked out Dani Olmo and Nico Williams Jr. as the players that Enzo Maresca should look to sign.
Both players starred as Spain won the Euro 2024 tournament earlier this month, and have been linked with big-money moves.
Athletic Club forward Williams looks closest to a move to Barcelona, while RB Leipzig’s Olmo has been linked with a host of top European sides.
Chelsea continue their rebuild under Maresca, and speaking to Betfred, Johnson thinks both are the right kind of player to come to Stamford Bridge.
He said: “If Chelsea want to compete and get back into the top four and challenge for titles, then these are the type of players they need to sign.
“They’re big game players that took the Euros by storm and if Chelsea want to get back to being one of the best, then they need to have players like them.”
“You’re normally cautious about new players coming to the Premier League that have never played there before, but these two are proper players, so I wouldn’t worry about them in the Premier League at all.
“After the Euros, they’re going to come with a big price-tag, but these are the types of players that Chelsea need to be signing.”
