Dwight Yorke doesn't want Manchester United to let Marcus Rashford go, but he has a player in mind should the need arise to replace the longtime Red Devil.
Rashford may want to leave the club after a downturn in production last season under manager Erik ten Hag, and Yorke says "it would be a huge mistake" for the club to allow the 26-year-old to leave Old Trafford for less than £100 million.
However, if Yorke's old club do find themselves in the position of searching for a Rashford replacement, then he says Khvicha Kvaratskhelia should be at the top of the shopping list.
Kvaratskhelia has seen his star rise since joining Napoli in 2022, and Yorke believes the 23-year-old Georgia international is the kind of "elite" player United should be pursuing.
Speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League Betting, Yorke explained why he's so high on Kvaratskhelia — and why it's hard for United to attract top talents recently.
"Manchester United absolutely should be in for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, you need to get elite people around the club and if you don’t have that it’s so hard to move forward," the retired treble winner said.
"You need those big names and the personnel to come in to really raise the standard. I don't feel that they're doing enough of that at the moment - but I don't think it's for lack of trying.
"I think they can't attract the players anymore. And of course, not being in the Champions League, it's always a step back for us.
"United need to be careful of that because it's happening too frequently rather than just the off year. United go two steps backwards each time we go one forward - they need to get back to having elite players."
