Former Middlesbrough star identifies key Chelsea weakness ahead of Carabao Cup clash

Former Middlesbrough star identifies key Chelsea weakness ahead of Carabao Cup clashDAZN

Middlesbrough shocked Chelsea with a 1-0 victory in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final and now they look to do it again.

The teams will square off Tuesday for the second leg, this time at Chelsea's home ground. While Boro hold the advantage thanks to their victory at the Riverside Stadium earlier this month, they are aware that holding the Blues to a draw or loss at Stamford Bridge will be a massive challenge.

However, one former Boro star is backing his old club to advance to the final. Speaking to Bitcoin Casinos, former Middlesbrough and Italy attacker Fabrizio Ravanelli feels that there's one area of the field that Chelsea can be exploited.

"I think we have a big chance because Middlesbrough at this moment have confidence," he said. "They have a possibility to make history and get back into the final.

"We know it is very hard to go to Chelsea and get to the final, but in football everything is possible.

"Chelsea are a fantastic team, but have many, many problems especially when the team needs to win the game because the defence has a lot of problems.

"I see the games on Italian television and Chelsea have a lot of problems with their defence. If Middlesbrough defends well, on the counter-attack they can score."
