Sam Allardyce believes Nottingham Forest are wasting their time with their complaints over Premier League officials.
The Premier League club controversially sent out a social media post following their defeat to Everton last weekend, where they openly criticised the integrity of the VAR official.
Forest were unhappy as they believed they were denied three clear penalties in the game and claimed they would seek action against the referees.
Speaking on William Hill and Footy Accumulators’ podcast, No Tippy Tappy Football , Allardyce stated the club's outburst won't change a thing because referees are protected.
“Nottingham Forest will not get anywhere with the controversy that has been created because referees are so protected,” he said.
“Eventually you get fed up with paying fines for actually speaking the truth. If you then go and present the evidence, which I have done many times, they’ll let you off with a warning if you’re lucky, but very rarely will they actually let you off. It is biased towards protecting the referees at all costs.
“You can prove what referees have said by getting a linguist in to read lips and I’ve done that to prove what referees have said to me in the past, but you get fed up with doing it and you get fed up with being fined for being right because they protect the referees so much.”
