Next season could be the last of Guardiola's reign.
Manchester City will once again go into next season as favourites to win the Premier League and continue their dominance of English football.

Their title win in 2024 was a record-breaking fourth in a row, but the next campaign could be the last under manager Pep Guardiola.

The City boss has hinted he may bring his time in Manchester to an end following the culmination of next season, after a spell that has seen him win six titles for the club.

If Guardiola does depart, then the question will be, who dares follow in the Spaniard's footsteps? Talking to AceOdds, former England striker Michael Owen thinks it will be a daunting task for any new manager to take on the role.

He said: "It's going to be like Klopp. It's going to be a comedown whoever manages after Pep, that won’t be easy to do.

"The inevitable one I felt if Burnley had done well, was Kompany, but obviously, now he's got another huge job. That might be out the window for now.

"If Arteta was at a smaller club doing really well, then he could be but obviously, he's at Arsenal now.

"Again, he's not going to swap that. So, a year's a long time in football. We'll see when it happens. If it does happen."
