Former winger Pat Nevin says Scotland's heavy defeat against Germany at Euro 2024 will not have knocked their confidence going into their crucial game with Switzerland.
The Tartan Army were beaten 5-1 in the tournament's opening game in Munich, and hardly laid a glove on the hosts other than the own goal they scored.
Elsewhere in Group A, Switzerland beat Hungary 3-1 in their opening game, meaning Scotland need to pick up a result against the Swiss on Wednesday.
But Nevin, who won 28 caps for Scotland, told BBC's Football Daily podcast that heavy defeats are just part of the game.
"They are footballers, footballers are quite good at compartmentalising things," said Nevin.
"We all get beat sometimes and we all get big defeats now and again.
"If you get beat two or three times in a row, then the confidence can really go out of sight.
"However top players don’t stop doing the right things, even when things don’t go well in a game."
