Manchester City currently sit on top of the table, looking for a fifth Premier League crown in a row, but are closely followed by Liverpool and Arsenal who still look like they will mount a challenge to the reigning champions.
Discussing the early season form of the trio with DAZN, thanks to talkSPORT BET, the former Scotland striker can't help but smile when talking about the title contenders.
He said: “I’m absolutely loving the title race at the moment, it’s enthralling. Manchester City are just ticking along really, really nicely, without reaching the levels that we know they can.
“They’ve still got some very tough games coming up as well. When you look back to the Arsenal game at the Etihad, I know Arsenal had a man sent off and the circumstances of the game, but you could argue that it was a great point for City. I don’t necessarily think that it wasn’t.
“The whole title race is really interesting. Arsenal have had their disciplinary hiccups which have cost them. I don’t think they’ve got disciplinary issues, I really don’t. Two of the sending-offs were for stupidity in kicking the ball away, and obviously the [William] Saliba situation is just something that can happen. It was just one of those decisions. However, it has brought them one or two problems in terms of team selection."

As well as the title race, McCoist already thinks it's been a intriguing season up and down the league, but as for the eventual winners, the co-commentator is sticking by his pre-season prediction of Arsenal finally lifting the trophy once again.
“It has been a really interesting start to the season and Liverpool have started really well, " he added.
"I was reserving judgment on them until I saw a few games, to see if and what changes Arne Slot would make. He’s come in and I think he’s been really impressive. The loss to Nottingham Forest aside, I think they’ve been great. I’ve really enjoyed watching them, and their top players are back playing to the level we know they can.
“I’m sticking with Arsenal to win the league because they were the team I went for at the start of the season. There’s no way I’m jumping ship this early in the season! I’m sticking with them, but the one thing I’d be convinced to say, having seen what we’ve seen, is that the winner will definitely come from those three. I don’t think there’s any doubt about that.”
