Jamie O'Hara has urged Ivan Toney to make the next step in his career by signing for his former club, Tottenham.
The striker had been expected to leave Brentford this summer, but no bid has been made for the England man who was part of the Three Lions Euros squad this summer.
Talking to Grosvenor Sport, O'Hara has hailed Toney's abilities and thinks he'd be the ideal player for Ange Postecoglou's side.
He said: “Toney is a good player and it’s time for him to make the step up to a big club. He’s done well at Brentford and although he wasn’t great for them at the end of the season, that might’ve been because he was eyeing a move away from the club.
"If he gets the move then it’ll be a really good singing. He still has to prove himself at a big club but he’s someone that Spurs will really want.
“He’d add a presence. He can hold the ball up and the team can play off him. He has pace and he knows where the back of the net is. If he gets over 20 goals then that’s an amazing signing.”
Toney isn't the only new arrival the former midfielder would like to see Spurs sign this summer, O'Hara is also holding out hope that the club can also recruit another England man in Eberechi Eze.
“If Spurs could get Eberechi Eze over the line then that would be a great signing." he added.
He is a top player. He does it week-in, week-out for Crystal Palace and the only challenge would be keeping him fit. He’d be exciting as he’d allow Spurs to play Heung-min Son up front with Eze on the left. He is the type of player they have to try and attract to the football club.”
