It's been a frustrating season for Spurs, who have struggled for consistency and seen their squad hampered by a wrath of injuries so far.

It has resulted in Tottenham currently occupying mid-table in the Premier League, but they do have a League Cup semi-final to look forward to this week, where they take on Liverpool.

It's a tough ask to overcome Arne Slot's relentless Liverpool side, but speaking exclusively to DAZN News, thanks to Lucky Block, former Spurs boss Tim Sherwood admits the one thing he'd like to see in 2025 is his old club finally lifting a trophy.

"Tottenham winning a trophy," Sherwood said when asked what he was looking forward to this year.

"I know it's a big ask, but it would be nice. I still think there's a realistic chance of it. I really do.

"I just hope that the bigger prize gets in the way of Liverpool. Maybe the Premier League, and certainly in the second leg when the Champions League starts around again. I hope they've got their eye on that.

"I think if Tottenham can get themselves to a final,  I think they're capable of winning a final in the Carabao Cup.

"And I wouldn't put it past them winning the Europa League as well. They need their players back. Their first XI they need back as quickly as possible."

Such has been the frustration for the North Londoners that pressure has mounted on boss Ange Postecoglou, with some suggestions the Australian could be out of a job if things don't improve. Much of the criticism has been about the manager's refusal to change the style of play, but Sherwood still thinks that Postecoglou is the best man for the job.

Adding: "Tottenham have had the best managers in the world. They've had Jose Mourinho and they've had Antonio Conte. Jose Mourinho is second in the Turkish league at the moment.  Conte is top of the Serie A.  And they've had Nuno, who's third in the Premier League now.  So, I mean, they've had a go.

"It's just sometimes the gloves don't fit. I think this glove actually fits.  I really do. I think he's the right man. I couldn't pick a better replacement.

"Who do you go and get? I mean, a lot of teams are getting rid of their managers and bringing in other managers, and there's no difference, no change.

"Pereira's done it. He's had a good start at Wolves. Juric, he comes in at Southampton. It's the same old, same old.

"Sometimes you have to maybe look at something different other than the manager.  Perhaps your recruitment's not as good. You can't always look at the style of play.

"When you do, as a club, change your manager, and you get the same results, sometimes you might have to look a bit closer to home."
