Former Tottenham defender Alan Hutton thinks that Aston Villa should move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Gallagher’s future at Stamford Bridge remains unclear as any sale could be booked as pure profit, aiding the club to meet Profit and Sustainability Regulations after years of heavy spending.
For their part, Villa may need to replace Douglas Luiz, who is attracting interest in the transfer market this summer.
Hutton also had a spell with Villa, as well as Rangers, Mallorca and more, and he thinks Gallagher would be ideal at Villa Park.
Speaking to Best Online Poker Sites, he said: “Losing Douglas Luiz would be a massive blow for Villa, and they’ll need to look into a replacement this summer if he does leave.
“Conor Gallagher has been mentioned as a potential replacement and although they’re slightly different players, I think he would fill that void. Gallagher would be a great signing for Villa if they can sign him.
“They’ve got Champions League football next season so Unai Emery needs to look at his squad and bring in a couple of quality players in the forward areas. I think having Emi Buendía back this season will certainly help move them along a long way next season in the midfield.”
