He thinks the side don't have enough medals.

Former Leicester City and Wales midfielder Robbie Savage dismissed England’s case for being the favourites at Euro 2024.

The Welshman believes that not enough of the squad have experience of winning trophies, pointing to Marc Geuhi and Kieran Trippier as examples, despite Trippier’s La Liga trophy earned at Atletico Madrid.

He also noted that Harry Kane is yet to win a trophy, after Bayern Munich failed in the Bundesliga after years of dominance.

Speaking to Planet Sport Bet, Savage said: “England are favourites for the tournament in some people’s eyes, but I don’t understand that. How many winners are there in the starting XI?

“Kyle Walker and John Stones have won trophies but Marc Guehi and Kieran Trippier haven’t. When you look at the midfield, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden have but Declan Rice hasn’t.

“If he starts Anthony Gordon and Harry Kane, those two haven’t won trophies, neither have Bukayo Saka or Cole Palmer.

“I don’t understand why they’re favourites. The Premier League teams haven’t done well in Europe this season whereas the Bundesliga teams have done unbelievably well.

“Germany are on home soil, their players are in form and they’ve got some of the best young players in Europe. I make Germany the favourites.”
