The Three Lions are one game away from Euros final.

England play the Netherlands on Wednesday evening looking to make it through to their second Euros final in a row.

However, despite leading the Three Lions to three semi-finals at major tournaments, Gareth Southgate has not been immune to criticism, particularly for England's performances in Germany.

Yet, talking to Planet Sport Bet, former Wales international Robbie Savage has hailed the England boss and praised how he has found a way for England to progress at the Euros.

“Gareth Southgate has come under some criticism but he continues to find a way,” said Savage.

“He always finds a way to win games in tournament football, whether that be in extra time or on penalties.

“He deserves huge credit for getting England to another semi-final and I think he’ll take them to the final. If they do get there then it’s a one-off game, and I think that gives them a real possibility of winning the Euros. It would be a remarkable achievement.”

Savage also believes Southgate and his staff deserve credit for the changes they've made throughout the tournament to ensure England's path to the final four.

Adding: “Southgate and his management team have clearly made the right decisions because they’re in the semi-finals.

“Whether or not those decisions have come when people wanted them to or later, whatever they’ve done so far has taken them to the semis. He knows what he’s doing and his changes have paid off.”
