DENVER BRONCOS @ LOS ANGELES CHARGERS - NFL – 01:15 – OCTOBER 18
The Chargers look to finally be hitting form, and they will be hoping they can extend their current streak to three wins when they welcome the Broncos to SoFi Stadium.
Despite four trips inside the opposition 20-yard line last week, the Broncos were unable to breach the Colts End Zone, eventually losing 12-9 following overtime in an error filled game that yielded zero touchdowns.
As a result, QB Russell Wilson has arguably had his worst ever start to an NFL season having thrown just four touchdowns during his first five matches. The Broncos average of 15 points per game is his worst return at this stage of the season as a starting quarterback, and he is currently completing less than 60% of his attempted passes.
It would require a huge turnaround from the offense in order for them to compete when they head to LA. Chargers QB Justin Herbert enters Week 6 with the second most yards gained in the NFL this season whilst running back Austin Ekeler has scored five touchdowns in his last two outings.
The Chargers have scored 64 points in their last two games, and if they manage to hit 30 points again then the Broncos are likely to head out of California with a pretty heavy loss.
Traders’ Tip: Los Angeles Chargers -5.5 @ 10/11. A £10 bet at these odds could return £19.09
CRYSTAL PALACE V WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS – PREMIER LEAGUE – 20:15 – OCTOBER 18
Crystal Palace welcome Wolves on Tuesday for what could be a tense encounter at the lower end of the table.
Despite frustrating teams with their defensive resilience, Palace have so far failed to keep a clean sheet at home this season. That could change here though as Wolves have failed to score outside of Molineux since the opening day of the season. Meaning that they have now gone over seven hours without an away goal since their sixth minute strike at Elland Road.
Premier League matches between these two have also proven to be low scoring affairs. Their eight previous encounters in this competition have all had two goals or less, with only six goals coming from the four matches played at Selhurst Park.
Given how much the visitors have struggled on their travels so far this season, there’s no reason for us to believe that this trend of low scoring encounters will be broken. Palace have won their last two games at home to Wolves without conceding, and there’s every chance that could continue here.
Traders’ Tip: Crystal Palace to Win to Nil @ 13/5. A £10 bet at these odds could return £36.
MANCHESTER UNITED V TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR –PREMIER LEAGUE – 20:15 – OCTOBER 19
Matches between Manchester United and Spurs have produced many goals in recent times. The last five encounters between these two sides at Old Trafford has seen a total of 21 goals, including Ronaldo’s hat-trick when United ran out 3-2 winners back in March.
Spurs have scored in all five of their away games in the league so far this season, and they will be hoping to get on the scoresheet once more when they travel to Manchester, especially with Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min both managing to find their scoring boots again.
The Red Devils have already beat both Arsenal and Liverpool at home this season, despite conceding in both games. We can see a similar manner of victory when the two meet on Wednesday night.
Traders’ Tip: Manchester United to Win & Both Teams to Score @ 3/1. A £10 bet at these odds could return £40.
CHELSEA V MANCHESTER UNITED – PREMIER LEAGUE – 17:30 – OCTOBER 22
Having both turned around what looked to be frustrating European Campaigns, both Chelsea and Man United will be hoping to push on in their quests to secure a place in the top 4 when the two sides meet at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
United have had to come from a goal down in their last two trips away from Old Trafford, against Everton and Omonia Nicosia, but they still managed to claim maximum points on both those occasions.
They face a much more difficult challenge here though, as Chelsea have gradually grown in confidence when playing at Stamford Bridge, and will hope to make it three home wins on the bounce, following on from 3-0 victories over both Wolves and AC Milan.
It was only at the start of this month when the visitors were thoroughly outclassed by the Sky Blue side of Manchester, and given their recent struggles to get off to a decent start on the road we wouldn’t be surprised to see Graham Potter get the better of Erik ten Hag for the second time this season.
Traders’ Tip: - Chelsea to win @ 9/10. A £10 bet at these odds could return £19
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR V NEWCASTLE UNITED – PREMIER LEAGUE – 16:30 – OCTOBER 23
Spurs have proven to be one of the more reliable teams in front of their own supporters in the Premier League. They are one of only three teams, alongside Man City & Arsenal, who can boast a 100% home record in the top flight so far this season, and you have to go all the way back to April to find the last time they dropped points at home in the league when they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Newcastle will not let that record phase them when they travel to White Hart Lane though. The Magpies have proven to be one of the tougher sides to break down this season and they boast the best away defensive record in the league up to this point having conceded just four goals on their travels.
Spurs may find it hard to get the better off Eddie Howe’s men here, and they are likely to need a lot of patience if they are to get the better of a solid defensive unit.
Traders’ Tip: Halftime/Fulltime – Draw/Tottenham @ 4/1. A £10 bet at these odds could return £50
