Tottenham begin their Premier League season later this month by kicking off against newly promoted Leicester City.
It's a second campaign in charge for Ange Postecoglou, and the club will be looking to improve on last season's 5th place by aiming for a Champions League spot.
Much was made of the Australian's style of play last season, but speaking exclusively to DAZN, courtesy of Free Bets, former Spurs star Gus Poyet is predicting a more focused season for the North London club.
The Uruguayan believes Spurs now know what to expect from their manager, and Postecoglou knows what players he needs for his system to work.
He said: "It's important this season because now everybody knows what to expect from a team from Ange (Postecoglou) and the way they're going to play, which is better because they can plan better.
"In the beginning, nobody knew, and it was spectacular to watch. It's clear now that Ange knows exactly what he wants, the players that he wants and the players that he doesn't want.
"That normally takes you to a better level because sometimes it's difficult to explain this to clubs. When you want to get to a certain level, you need to train close to that level all the time. And to train at that level all the time, you need the whole squad to be in the same line with the coach and at the highest level.
"When you have four, five, or six players who are not at that level, they cannot reach that level, and then it's impossible to maintain it. So, I think he’s going for that—to have a squad that he knows is going to be performing at that level all the time and training at that level."
