Has Neymar fulfilled his potential following move to Saudi Arabia? Teddy Sheringham explainsDAZN
The Brazilian is the latest star to join the Saudi Pro League.

Former Premier League striker Teddy Sheringham is unsure as to whether Brazilian striker Neymar has lived up to expectations following his move to Al Hilal for €100m.

After six years at PSG, Neymar has decided to showcase his talents in the Saudi Pro League which already has stars such as Karim Benzema, Riyad Mahrez and Roberto Firmino amongst its ranks.

However, the Saudi Pro League is a competition yet to be taken seriously by football fans across the world with many still deeming it as an easy pay day for those coming towards the end of their career.

This next move from Neymar has now led to some questions regarding whether he has fulfilled his potential after a stellar four years at Barcelona before stuttering at Paris Saint-Germain where he failed to win a Champions League.

Former Premier League striker Sheringham has given his verdict on Neymar's career so far and believes that there will always be question marks surrounding the Brazilian when it comes to fully utilising his talent.

"Well, he’s Brazil’s joint-record goal scorer with Pele." Sheringham told Lord Ping.

"I was quite amazed by that when I saw. It’s no mean feat to be Brazil’s best ever goal scorer when you think about all the top players that they have produced over the years, but I do think there will always be question marks about whether or not Neymar has fulfilled his potential or made the most of the natural talent that he has.

"He is a little bit of a nearly man, certainly in the latter stage of his career. He can be quite theatrical on and off the pitch and that has overshadowed his ability in recent years."
