Marcus Rashford has been told to step up and take on the criticism by Man United legend Japp Stam.
The United forward endured a difficult campaign last year, where he was dogged by off-the-field issues and only managed to score eight goals all season. His performances drew huge criticism, and he missed out on England's Euro 2024 squad this summer.
Ahead of the opening day, the 26-year-old has been told by Stam that he needs to listen to the people around him if he's to reach his full potential once again.
He told William Hill’s podcast, Up Front with Simon Jordan: "I like Marcus Rashford, I think he has all of the ingredients to be a very good player. I just wonder whether people are telling him what he’s not doing well? If they are, is he taking that advice from the people around him?
“He needs to step up and take on board the criticism from the manager and the players. I can’t believe he doesn’t think to himself that he’s not playing well. He’s got the talent and the pace, he just needs to be more confident in the way he plays.”
